Angalamman Songs Description
The pambai or pamba is a pair of cylindrical drums used in temple festivals and folk music in Tamil Nadu, India.
There is a small community in southern Andhra who plays this instrument: the Pambalas. This unit of two drums is held near the waist of the player or put on the floor, and beaten with sticks, or with a hand and a stick. In the simpler varieties, both drums are made of wood, but there is a pambai in which one drum is of wood and the other of brass: the wooden one is known as veeru vanam and the metal drum as vengala pambai.
The udukkai or uduku is a membranophone instrument used in folk music and prayers in Tamil Nadu and it is originated in Tamil Nadu as well. Its shape is similar to other Indian hourglass drums, having a small snare stretched over one side. The udakku is played with the hand and the pitch may be altered by squeezing the lacing in the middle. The damru in the hands of Lord Shiva is also referred to as udukkai.

1. Angali Alaippu - Malaiyanural
2. Veppilai Amman
3. Periyaye Varnippu - mari pooja
