Angry Gorilla Description
The App has English and Spanish videos explaining all the rules. Here, we briefly summarize the features. There are 8 habitats in the jungle, and each habitat has one animal species. The animals that you need to capture and take to the hospital are: monkeys, zebras, gazelles, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and giraffes. Each habitat is represented by a circle. Inside each circle, there are green tiles that indicate the location of the animals. When you roll the dice and you land on one of the green tiles, you capture that animal.
Each animal avatar has a number underneath it: that’s the fee the hospital pays for delivering that animal. For example, a monkey has a tag of $3k, whereas buffaloes pay a fee of $4k and elephants $6k.
The number of animals still available in each habitat is displayed in the center of the circle. For example, there are 8 monkeys, 6 zebras, 4 buffaloes, 3 elephants, etc.
We are now going to explain the different dangers you might encounter during your journey. Later in this video, we will show real examples of each danger. The first danger is the river, which has to be crossed two times. The bridges have broken boards, and when you roll the dice and land on one of the broken boards, you will be attacked by crocodiles or hippopotamus. At that point, if you have animals loaded in your truck, they will be returned to their habitats, and you will be returned to the beginning. All players must watch the animation to continue the game.
The second danger is the two hyenas and a lion, represented on the road by crossbones. If you land on one of those tiles, the animals on your truck will be returned to their habitats, you will be returned to the start line (the pits), and the truck scoreboard and animal inventory will be updated accordingly.
The next danger is the gorilla itself. If you land on the big spot where the gorilla is, you will be attacked, and you will lose the animals in your truck and be sent back to the start line.
However, if you land on any of the three lemon tiles enclosed in red rectangles, you will see a list of adversaries under the gorilla, and once you tap on the name of one of the adversaries, the gorilla will go to where that player is to attack that player. Again, the attacked player will lose their animals and be sent back to the beginning. Later in this video, we will show you an exact real example.
The game can be played by up to four players. The player who captures and delivers more animals to the hospital is the winner. The key here is the word deliver. One thing is capturing an animal, and something else is delivering the animal. When you capture an animal, the animal is loaded into your truck, and the scoreboard on the left side of the game is updated.
An animal is considered delivered when the player crosses the finish line at the bottom. At that point, the animals are transferred from the truck to the hospital, and the scoreboard on the right side of the game gets updated. Those points are now safe.
