BeST Guide Description
Wherever you go in the BeST (Berliner Simulations & Training Center), BeST Guide accompanies you. On the outskirts of the Berlin simulation and training center, BeST Guide is a GPS (Global Positioning System), and once inside, BeST Guide is an IPS (Indoor Positioning System). Regardless of your starting point (at home, the parking lot, or inside the BeST), BeST Guide always offers you the shortest route to reach your destination. On-site, QR codes are placed here and there to help you determine your starting position, feel free to scan them.
Starting from your home or office, BeST Guide suggests using your favorite GPS application. Once there, a notification invites you to return to the BeST guidance application.
Once your route is calculated, your guide offers you two modes of indoor navigation: assisted or advanced. In assisted mode, your smartphone becomes a dashboard, you regulate your speed and mark breaks. In advanced mode, it becomes an e-compass, and you enjoy step-by-step guidance. BeST Guide processes information in real-time and therefore does not record any data allowing for identification and/or location. In both modes, simply scan one of the many QR codes in the BeST, set your destination, and follow the instructions.
So, your guide does not remember the path taken. BeST Guide only considers signals emitted by your phone's sensors, assuming its movements are actually yours. By granting all requested permissions, your experience will be optimal. But, BEWARE, BeST Guide does not see obstacles in front of you.
