BikeToken.io App Description
Prove ownership:
A Bike Token is a digital record that can be used to prove that you are the rightful owner of the bike. A digital copy of the sales receipt is kept that ensures privacy while remaining verifiable.
Document History:
Update your Bike Token to show new upgrades or report damages and subsequent repairs. Each update is recorded on the blockchain, creating a record that is set in time and can't be changed. When a bicycle is sold the data are transferred with the Bike Token. This creates a historical and verifiable timeline of the life of the bike across all of it's owners.
Sell Your Bike For More:
When it comes time to sell your bike, the Bike Token's documented and verifiable history serves as proof of the current state of the bike. This eliminates much of the uncertainty and risk, meaning that you can sell the bike at a higher price.
Theft Notification and Recovery:
In the unfortunate event that your bicycle is stolen, you can flag it in the system. Then as buyers of second hand bicycles look-up the bicycle's serial number on BikeToken.io they will immediately see that it is flagged stolen. When that person views the stolen Bike Token record they are asked a series of questions that may help locate the bicycle. You will then receive notifications with this information. If the person has possession of the stolen bike, then there is a process to return it to you.
This Android App is used together with the web-app. It is used only to take the required photos of the bicycle and document, as well as to validate the bike using the NFC tags.
