Bilughatain (Bilingual) Description
With this app you can use your knowledge of Arabic to improve your knowledge of English or German, or use your knowledge of English or German to improve your knowledge of Arabic.
The app presents Arabic texts from the biography of the Messiah next to a close translation of the texts into English or German. The wording of the sentences is very similar, so you can learn the meanings of words and phrases in the second language by comparing them with the words in your own language. There are also audio recordings to help you learn the sounds of the languages.
The app uses common modern Arabic, and the English or German words match the Arabic words wherever possible. Another unique feature of this app is that it offers texts, not only in American English, but also in Middle-Eastern English. The Arabic texts are taken from the “Kitab Sharif” translation of the Injil, with permission of the publisher, Dar al-Kitab al-Sharif. A knowledge of the life of the Messiah is helpful for understanding the English and German languages and for understanding the history and culture of these languages.
There are places where English or German grammar and style require the addition of a word that is not in the Arabic text. Where appropriate, these extra words have been enclosed in square brackets so the reader will understand this difference between the languages. The English and German translations follow the grammatical structures of the Arabic to the maximum extent possible in their grammar. Wherever the structure differs, the reader should understand that the grammar requires the use of a different structure.
