BlueBeacon Description
It’s a utility to help you find new friends around you. You can associate a link to your web-page with your smart phone (or any other Bluetooth-enabled device) and let others go directly to your page when they are in the range of your BlueBeacon.
Suggested initial setup by “cross-pollination”: install BlueBeacon on both yours and your friend’s phones, run it simultaneously on the two devices and let the two beacons find each other. Then you’ll be forwarded to a beacon registration page, where you’ll need to associate your friend’s phone (its address will be filled in automatically) with his/her web page (e.g., a social network profile), and your friend will need to do a similar thing about your profile and your phone.
Now you’re all set: you can go meet new friends by scanning for their beacons and studying their web pages. For instance, if both you and your potential friend appear on Facebook, you can log in and chat, share pictures, learn what you have in common, and become friends in real life.
