Boxer Description
The Boxer App: How It Works
Automatic Mode:
The boxers will fight in Automatic mode at startup, you can just watch.
Tapping Auto returns to automatic mode.
Fighting A Match:
You can fight a match by using the 6 punch keys, tapping any starts a match.
You can score a knockdown with a clean punch to the jaw. But this is difficult, due to the blocking effect of the opponents arms and gloves. However, each punch landed counts. After a number of good body and head punches, eventually the boxer will collapse in a knockdown.
Test your skill and get your opponent on the floor more times than he gets you!
Changing The View:
Initially you are in Overview. You can zoom in and out using pinch, or rotate using drag. For example, using pinch and drag you can get a view from above, and get a birds-eye view of the boxers fighting. But in Overview the view stays static where you left off. The viewing position does not move with the action.
By tapping the Switch-View button (looks like an eye) you can switch to Action View. Now the viewer follows the movement of the boxer. Action View is recommended for a boxing match.
Kicks:
Not particularly sporting, but you can kick your opponent. He does not kick back. Quite often blocked if you fighting close-in, but if you land a kick, the opponent is in trouble! But he will get up pretty fast and come back fighting. One of the kicks is a punch-kick combo.
Throws:
Not sporting at all, but you can throw your opponent. He does not throw back. Fling him against the ropes or even out of the ring. He sometimes has trouble squeezing back through the ropes!
Shooting:
If in Action View, a shot will aim straight at your opponent. A hit is always a knockout. Even bullets left rolling around the ring will knockout a boxer if touched. In Overview the bullet will fire from the center of the screen. Pinch and drag to aim the bullet at your opponent.
Or if you have had enough boxing, shoot them both.
Sound:
Sound effects are provided, which are mutable using the speaker button.
On/Off:
The On/Off button kills the app. No warnings are given.
