The Czech lands were among the most industrial in Europe. Although you won't find any mines, smelters or ironworks in Brno, the city has been at the forefront of world industry for almost three centuries. Thanks to its construction and development, Brno flourished and became a cultural metropolis with unique architecture. The turning events of the 20th century significantly marked the position of the city and its face, but they could not sever all the threads. To this day, some key industrial buildings have remained in Brno, and above all the strong stories of the families that built the glory of Brno. Successful creative industries have been growing on this basis in recent years. They draw from a rich history and are inspired by the current relaxed atmosphere that prevails in Brno.

From its definition, the term Industrial refers not only to all industrial monuments and brownfields, but also to all cultural and aesthetic experience associated with this theme.

The Brno INdustrial project, which is supported by TIC BRNO together with its partners, will present the city in exactly this light in 2022. It will offer a mix of historical connections, industrial monuments and functioning buildings, stories and current creative events. Thanks to it, you will explore Brno from the underground to the chimneys and from the founders of the textile industry to contemporary fashion brands.

To supplement the content of the trail, we created this application, which enriches the content of the topic in an educational and entertaining way and expands information on individual places within the trail. Part of the trail is the realization of eleven outdoor panels, reminiscent of specific industrial buildings and their history.
