Browser for Children Description
Let your kids browse the Internet with safety and autonomy, but without constant supervision, by selecting just the pages you allow them to see. With this app children can learn what the Web has to offer in a controlled environment.
* Note: This is the Children's App version, please read below. *
Browser for Children is an internet browser split in two applications: one for the parents and one for the kids. One one hand, from the Parent's App, they can select which content their kids can access by creating bookmarks, which contain links to specific websites that they can then browse. On the other hand, the Children's App will only display the content of those sites that parents have previously chosen for them. This way, children can have a normal browsing experience within a defined boundary, avoiding unwanted ads or access to places they should not see.
In most cases, parents would install the Parent's App in their own mobile phones and the Children's App in their kid's tablets; this way they keep the power to create bookmarks out of their children's reach.
This application has the ability to:
- Allow entire sites (e.g. wikipedia.org) by filtering everything that's not inside one or more specific domain names, in a user-friendly way.
- Test (browse) a specific bookmark on the Parent's App before it goes into the children's hands.
- Pair multiple Children App devices to a single Parent's App.
... and it's free!
Watch out for upcoming features! If you like this app, please give it 5 stars and let me know by email (naevtamarkus@gmail.com) what nice feature you would like to see next.
About the author:
I'm a father of three kids, the oldest one being 8. I believe he has the perfect age to start discovering what the Internet is, browse certain websites (e.g. wikipedia, minecraft fandom wiki, etc.) but is not ready to end up in a porn website or Youtube's "next video", which is unavoidable if I let him use a regular web browser. I developed this app with the wish that all kids of that intermediate age can enjoy reading children-friendly content in a controlled, yet autonomous way. I hope you all enjoy it!
