Byte Machine Description
Byte Machine is a puzzle game. The game is played on a grid, with 22 usable byte types. Each Byte type has a unique function and special interactions with other cells! In classic Puzzle Mode, drag cells onto the placement area in order to make a machine capable of clearing out enemy bytes. Once you're ready to test it out, press play and see your creation at work!
Wanna challenge? Try out the Creative mode. In Creative mode you have the entire grid and all Byte types at your disposal, so you can let your creativity free and share the results with everyone. On the contrary, take part in challenges from levels created by others.
Not stopping there, the game also has an extremely interesting Prison Mode with a completely different way of playing. You control a Byte to calculate and move other Bytes calculatedly to destroy enemies.
Bytes
- Mover - moves in the pointed direction
- Push - can be pushed in any direction
-Generator - The generator Byte copies the cell behind the direction it is pointing to the front, pushing any cells that it is able to push if they are in the way of the new cell. If the cell in front is unable to be pushed, the generator will not create a new cell.
- Mover - The mover Byte moves in the direction it is pointing at
- Slide - A Slide Byte (or Slider) is a byte that can only be moved on one axis, depending on its rotation
- Push - The Push Byte (or Pushable) is a Byte that does not interact with anything on its own
- Rotator (CCW) - The Rotator Byte is byte that rotate orthogonally adjacent bytes clockwise
- Rotator (CW) - The Rotator Byte is byte that rotate orthogonally adjacent bytes counter-clockwise
- Rotator (CW) - Its main purpose is to delete any byte (including the Trash byte) that moves or gets pushed into it
- Enemy - When a byte gets pushed into it, it destroys both itself and the opposing byte and generates a sound and some red particles
- Immobile - The Immobile Byte (or Immovable Byte, or Wall) is a Byte that cannot be moved by any Byte under any circumstance
- Prison - You can control Prison to do anything in Prison mode
- Nudge - The Nudge Byte is a variant of the Mover Byte that will only start moving after being pushed by another Byte
- Present - The present Byte will break itself and the Byte touching it on impact, and create a random Byte at its position
- Random rotator - The Random Rotator rotates adjacent Bytes either clockwise or counter-clockwise randomly
- Converter - The Converter Byte converts the Byte it is looking at into the Byte behind it. It can only convert a Byte's type, and the converted Byte will keep its initial rotation
- Teleporter - The Teleporter Byte teleports the Byte behind it to its front, pushing any Bytes that it is able to push if they are in the way of the new Byte
- Puller - The Puller Byte is a variant of the Mover Byte that can pull one Byte behind it along with its primary function
- Directional - The directional Byte can only be moved in the direction the Byte is pointing to. It can be rotated
- Fall - The Fall Byte will move downwards by an indefinite distance until it hits a Byte or the grid border in a single tick. It cannot be rotated
- Fixed rotator - The Fixed Rotator rotates adjacent Bytes to the direction it is facing
- Flipper - The flipper Byte will rotate the Byte that touches it 180° on the side the arrows are pointing
- Physical generator - A physical generator acts exactly like a normal generator, but if the line of Bytes the PG generates hits something blocking it then the PG will start generating out the back
- Strange - Every step, The Strange Byte will randomly choose an action to perform
