Caithness at War Description
Why not immerse yourself in an interactive animated experience focusing on five wartime structures and three events that took place during World War Two in Sinclair’s Bay.
At each of the eight sites along the trail you will find a large yellow target at the bottom right hand corner of the information panel. Point you camera at the target and enjoy the experience.
Make sure and have your volume turned up, and interact with the diorama that appears on your screen using the buttons or arrows. Zoom in by going closer to the target, or look at things from a different angle by altering the height and angle of your phone or tablet.
The targets can be found at Site 3 – Keiss Harbour (Machine Gun Pillbox), Site 4 – Keiss Beach (Anti-tank Obstacles), Site 5 – Wester River (Flame Barrage), Site 8 – Skitten War Memorial (Operation Freshman), Sites 9 – Reiss Beach (Beach Defences), Site 10 – Reiss Beach (Minefield), Site 12 – St Tear Chapel east of Ackergill (Operation Servant), and Site 16 – Noss Head carpark (Y Service Station).
