Calculador Ajaexpo Description
In view of the need to make mathematics classes more enjoyable, dynamic and participatory in order to develop in the student the skills and competencies proposed for elementary education, seeking the playful and practical in the teaching and learning process, awakening in the student the curiosity and thus working on respect for cultures and Ethnomathematics. In other words, getting our students to identify the presence of mathematics in different environments, allowing them to expand their knowledge, stimulating creativity, the ability to solve everyday problems, stimulating calculation, developing logical reasoning and its cognitive aspects. In this way, this project aims to make the student experience such experiences in practice, through playful experiences and field classes in some parts of the Serra dos Nogueiras and Serra do Baixio do Môco community, Salitre-CE, also stimulating the process of interaction , since the activities will be developed in groups where students will be able to share knowledge, exchange ideas and strategies, with the teacher as the mediator of these activities.
Each person has their own time and pace to learn, and they can use their previous knowledge to acquire new knowledge, an essential act for student protagonism (FREIRE, 1996). According to Menezes (2006), “the people who go to school today constitute a highly diverse population, which generates the need to pay attention to different ways of interpreting the world, knowledge and social relations.” It is necessary for the school to enable and provide opportunities for the experience of broader and more diverse cultural experiences, in an educational action that conceives collective discussions and the reversibility of roles in the act of teaching and learning.
From this perspective, in February 2023, the AJAEXPO Calculator: an instrument for understanding everyday life and practical application in communities in Salitre was conceived and initially planned, aiming to contribute to the improvement of mathematics classes, as well as the innovation of teaching educational practice in search of success in the student's educational life, providing more meaningful, practical and pleasurable learning.
The aim of the project is to instigate and contribute to the development and strengthening of mathematical teaching and student protagonism, increasing their capabilities through Mathematics in Practice and integrating the community into the school space, valuing their knowledge in relation to agrarian measures.
To carry it out, theoretical-practical research, logical thinking, mental calculation, activities that develop students' reasoning, socialization and creativity were used, skills that are increasingly sought after in the scope of school education. The project triggers actions aimed at the problem of land measurements, in practice, in a field action carried out by students in the 6th year of elementary school, with the help of agricultural measurement tools and the creation of an application for calculating land cubage, quantitative of production and income from cassava farming, aiming to facilitate the work of farmers, making the process more practical and economical, being able to carry out various activities in the community. The project, in its construction trajectory, also participated in school and scientific events, such as the II edition of AJAEXPO 2023 (Exhibition and Scientific Show of E.M.E.I.F. Antônio José de Albuquerque), qualifying for the municipal stage, which in turn classified for the state stage at Ceará Cientifico 2023.
