CheckMySelf Description
CheckMySelf extracts health measurements from a video stream of exposed skin on the surface of a human face. The video stream is analysed with advanced AI and deep learning algorithms, including computer vision technology and signal processing. No identifiable features, such as eyes, are needed.
In approximately one minute, users can measure blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability (SDNN and/or RRi raw data), oxygen saturation, breathing rate, sympathetic stress, parasympathetic activity and pulse-respiration quotient.
Introducing groundbreaking bloodless blood tests! Measure hemoglobin, hemoglobin A1C, and cholesterol total (under research) using a smartphone or laptop camera. Nine additional blood tests coming soon.
Our technology runs on the device, enabling users to perform scans without connection to the internet. CheckMySelf has absolutely no access to end-user’s health data.
How Our Technology Works
Light Analysis
Light from surrounding environment or device torch penetrates the skin and reflects off blood vessels to camera.
Camera Calibration
CheckMySelf connects to camera and receives captured video stream. If necessary, camera parameters automatically adjust to optimize video feed.
Luminance Correction
When required, light levels are processed to improve vital signs accuracy.
ROI Detection
Region of interest is cropped from full image.
RGB Data Extraction
Skin detection is performed on each ROI followed by extraction of RGB (red, green, blue values).
Vital Signs Calculations
Each vital sign is calculated based on varying quantities of data. Results appear within 10 sec. to 1 min.
How Do We Extract Health Measurements?
Contactless Video-based rPPG
For contactless data extraction, CheckMySelf uses rPPG (remote photoplethysmographic imaging). rPPG is a camera-based solution for contactless cardiovascular monitoring, proven to be as accurate as traditional PPG devices. Our technology measures the changes in red, green, and blue light reflected from the skin and quantifies the contrast between specular reflection and diffused reflection.
Contact-based PPG
For challenging conditions, CheckMySelf has implemented a backup contact-based solution. The contact-based solution extracts a PPG signal when users place a finger on the rear camera of a smartphone. CheckMySelf automatically detects when conditions are not ideal for contactless rPPG extraction and suggests using the contact-based extraction.
Mental Stress
CheckMySelf uses the Baevsky Stress Index and heart rate variability (SDNN and/or RRi raw data) measurements to calculate users’ stress levels and provides easy-to-read stress results on a 5 point scale: low, normal, mild, high, and extremely high.
Proven Performance
CheckMySelf’s technology undergoes continuous testing, both in-house and in external medical labs and academic institutions as part of clinical studies. Our advanced signal processing allows for clean data, eliminating outlying information and providing a higher signal-to-noise ratio.
