CheckMate Description
CheckMate is a two-player strategy board game played on an 8x8 grid, where each player controls 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The goal of the game is to checkmate the opponent’s king, which means putting the king in a position where it is under attack (check) and cannot move to a safe square, either by moving the king or blocking the attack. Players take turns moving their pieces, each with unique movement rules, aiming to strategically capture the opponent’s pieces while defending their own. The game ends when one player's king is checkmated, or the game ends in a draw under certain conditions. It requires tactical planning, foresight, and an understanding of complex piece interactions.
