Some information about Good Friday and Holy Week
Holy Week is a week in which we celebrate the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, the establishment of the sacrament of communion, the crucifixion and death of Jesus, and then the resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Good Friday is known by several other names, including Good Friday or the Friday of the Crucifixion, during which the crucifixion and death of Jesus on Golgotha and his burial are remembered. Other names by which this occasion is known are Holy Friday, Good Friday and Easter Friday.
Based on John 19:42, Jesus' crucifixion likely took place on a Friday, and the Gospels detail the arrest, trial, torture, crucifixion, death and burial of Jesus that are remembered on this day. It is most likely that Good Friday as a historical event occurred on April 3, 33 AD, based on the Jewish Passover - in which Jesus was crucified according to the Bible - on the one hand, and the incident of the darkening of the sky that the Bible also referred to on the other hand, and a group of research and multiple studies conducted in this regard. The occasion is considered a mandatory fasting day, and the traditional color to refer to it is black or purple in the Syriac and Coptic tradition or red in the Latin and Roman tradition.
