《回到 1872》-- 尋找 "真光書院" 的歷史 Description
"Back to 1872" is a visual novel/role-playing game. Players will play the role of a 13-year-old rebellious female student from the modern "True Light School of Hong Kong", travel through time and space, and explore the rich history of "True Light College".
"True Light Academy" was founded in 1872 by Ms. Nashari, an American Presbyterian missionary. At that time, the society favored boys over girls, and many girls ended up not wanting to go to school. As a result, China's first girls' school was established to promote the education and rights of female students.
Eventually, True Light spread in the Guangzhou area, and there are currently seven schools named True Light. To this day, the school still has a class dedicated to introducing students to the history of the school and the role of women in society. However, many students today find courses boring and irrelevant. Therefore, this game is about allowing students to experience life during that period and hopefully inspire them to have a greater appreciation for the history of their school.
The game was developed by 3 female students (Peral, Pisces, Ashley) from True Light Secondary School in Hong Kong. It was their first foray into game development after taking STEM classes after school. The game involved extensive historical research, as well as collecting recordings of various teachers and students to make the game more authentic. The artwork was entirely hand-drawn by a student artist, who refused to use AI-generated graphics, insisting that all work be hand-drawn.
The game is still in the prototyping stage, with the demo only implementing some of the planned levels and story. The game is currently only available in Cantonese and Chinese.
