Gallerie d’Italia Description
Gallerie d’Italia is the digital guide to the new Intesa Sanpaolo’s museum in Turin, which allows users to enjoy an "advanced" visitor experience: the user will be taken on an interactive journey to discover the Bank’s new cultural hub, Gallerie d’Italia – Torino, in an itinerary that ranges from temporary exhibitions of internationally renowned photographers to the history of the last century revealed through photographs stored in the Publifoto Archive and the permanent collection of Piedmont art housed on the Noble Floor.
The app assists users during their visit with exclusive contents (such as audio storytelling) and background information, just like a virtual guided tour, but can also be used at home to discover the Gallerie d’Italia – Torino and the full schedule of museum initiatives.
The app has also been designed for interaction with the museum areas and installations, thanks to beacon technology which allows users to position their self inside the museum (indoor positioning), receive news about museum events and find their way around the underground areas.
In addition, thanks to beacons, visitors can interact with "Archivio Vivo," the permanent installation dedicated to the Publifoto Archive on floor -3, to download their favourite images choosing from the many digitized shots provided by the museum.
Furthermore, by scanning the QR codes scattered around the exhibition, it is possible to see information labels about the artworks.
Registration is required in order to access the extra multimedia resources. It is, however, possible to use the app in "Guest" mode, simply to access information along the exhibition.
The app includes:
Home - with featured contents, upcoming exhibitions and events, functional information for planning your visit, insights into Palazzo Turinetti, the Publifoto Archive, the permanent collection on the Noble Floor and museum services
Visit - to find your way around once inside the museum with useful tips for living the digital experience and to expand the contents of the exhibitions
Gallerie+ - repository of extra contents and images saved by the user thanks to the interaction with "Archivio Vivo"
What’s on - to discover all the exhibitions and all the initiatives of Gallerie d'Italia - Torino and save them on your device
