Meydan Meşkleri Description
Istanbul Square Meşkleri Community was established in 2018. Since its establishment, in addition to various concert halls, it has been performing the Sufi culture, sect rituals and ceremonies, which have reached us from our ancient culture and are about to be forgotten, in accordance with its procedures and customs, in historical buildings such as social complexes, madrasahs, lodges and lodges, which our state has restored and preserved from the past to the present. The love that has been transmitted throughout history through ceremonies in the lodges, which are seen as schools of wisdom, is now offered to the benefit of our nation again with the community established under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture.
To be mentioned specifically, Mevlevi Rituals, which constitute the peak of Turkish Music, start with the naat accompanied by sazen (instrument players) and chanters (reciters) called mutrib, and are completed with the recitation of the Holy Quran, following the ritual composed of Persian lyrics. Meanwhile, the whirling dervish chants silently, saying "Allah Allah". These Mevlevi Rites are performed in Mevlevi Lodges.
In addition to the Mevleviye, the ceremonies performed by sects such as Halvetî, Kâdirî, Rıfâî, Bedevi, Vefâî, Sadi are performed in the aforementioned group. These dhikr's vary such as Kuud, Kıyam, Devran, Bedevi Güllesi, Vefa Devri, Zenbûrî dhikr and they are introduced to our nation under the leadership of competent people in accordance with their procedures. Again, in these ceremonies, people called zakiran (hymn reciters) create a connection and harmony between dhikr by reading hymns arranged in accordance with the rhythm, composition and maqam.
T.R. For the first time in its history, with the material and moral support of the Ministry of Culture, almost forgotten ceremonies such as the Devran dhikr and the Loyalty Period were recorded as documentaries by the Department of Sufism, Wisdom and Square Practices.
The works that were composed and recited in palaces, mosques and dervish lodges throughout history are today performed by the Community in authentic places under the name of "Âsitâne Meşkül". Hymn lyrics belonging to the elders of the sect are annotated and explained. Thus, in the monotheistic lodges of the lodges called Meydan, volunteer dervishes are trained in the Meydan manners in a wise manner.
In these historical and spiritual places, works in similar forms such as suğul, tevşih, stop, naat and kaside are performed by the community. Works notated in Ottoman Turkish and forgotten on dusty shelves are researched, deciphered, recorded and brought to our civilization. In our culture, people who are experts in music and love have taught their students with love the knowledge they have. In this manner, the conversations of those who are experts in musical knowledge and wisdom are entertained to their listeners through hymns and speeches.
