Understanding the different mechanics of the game can be challenging especially without anyone to teach you. It is also a game where areas can be dominated and without traveling long distances or coordinating with others it can be very hard to play against such unsurmountable barriers. But if you're in a area that has a contentious back and forth between the factions then it can be a lot of fun.

Recharging has always been broken, imo: there should be a way to allocate cubes to recharge the nearest needy portals all at once, even better: a list or tagged set of portals. Players have already done the grinding to acquire the cubes. Making them grind to spend them is double taxation. An inter-dimensional hacking supercomputer that can't do basic bookkeeping & automation is just silly. I've done >170M recharge, and this is by far the dumbest aspect of the game.

Seems like it is more difficult to get things done as it were than the old Ingress when walking by. Hacking is still easy. Charging is somewhat easy, if it is below a certain amount then you have to back out of the charge screen, go to the main, go to inventory, scroll over to cubes, load one or more cubes, then reverse the process to get back to the charging screen. Would be nice if from the charge screen you could access the cubes. Forget attacking that takes even more time.
