BXMA, simply known as "Chuan Lian" or "Chuan Lian Group", is a chain supermarket in Taiwan, established in October 1998, and currently has the largest number of branches among all supermarkets in Taiwan.
At the beginning, Chuanlian only had 66 stores and was famous for its cheap image, and the shopping environment and service quality have been improved over the years. Chuan Lian takes advantage of the fact that it focuses on small supermarkets and is rapidly expanding its points of sale by acquiring stores that were not considered by wholesale stores and in rural areas that are not suitable for shopping. The brand has been strengthened through the gradual acquisition of Yang Lian Shih, Shan Mi Stores, Taipei Agricultural Marketing Company Stores, Quan Mai Stores and Soong Ching Stores to strengthen the fresh produce segment and expand the scale of operations. As of June 16, 2023, they have a total of 1,145 branches, making them the largest domestic supermarket in Taiwan, including 5 branches of "Chuan Lian Imart" and 5 branches of "Chuan Lian Mini", both of which are mini supermarkets.
Store types:
- First-generation stores: Chuan Lian started as stores selling food and general household goods. And some branches started selling fresh products and establishing special areas for beauty and others.
- Chun Lian Imart: After Chuan Lian acquired Taipei Agricultural Marketing Supermarket, it was transformed in 2012 into the first iMart store in Taipei (the style later became the third generation).
- Chuanlian Mini: The first store was opened in 2018 in the main urban areas of Taipei City. It covers an area of about 80 to 100 square meters, and contains a variety of fresh products and daily necessities. Due to its small size, it is a miniature version of Chuanlian.
