With the donations from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, St. James' Settlement, Christian Family Service Centre, United Christian Nethersole Community, and Hong Kong Young Women's Children Association co-organise a project titled "Jockey Club We WATCH Healthy Lifestyle Project" ("The Project").
The Project aims to facilitate middle-aged people, especially working class, to improve their lifestyle to become more healthy one, and then to prevent any possible chronic diseases risks Through developing and enhancing the awareness of the benefit of lifestyle medicine and health coaching.
The Project is planned to be carried out from 2023 to mid-2025. The target audience are local middle-aged participants aged 35 to 59 who are not currently members of the District Health Center and are with potential health risks. Interested participants are invited to do a screening survey about health risk. After conducting the screening survey, preliminary eligible participants will undergo a more detailed health questionnaire on exercise science, nutritional science, emotional and mental health, etc., and have a blood test. After conducting the health questionnaires and blood tests, eligible participants will be invited to participate in the six-month health coaching provided by the above-mentioned NGOs.

"Jockey Club We WATCH Health Plan" hopes to help middle-aged people improve their living habits and prevent or delay chronic diseases. The plan is the first public health project in Hong Kong to use the "lifestyle medicine" model to help the public prevent chronic diseases. It will be carried out from 2023 to 2025. It aims to recruit more than 20,000 people to participate in the screening and provide health management guidance for qualified people .
Eligible participants will receive 6-month personalized health management guidance using "lifestyle medicine" as an intervention model, cultivate awareness of healthy living under the guidance of health management coaches, learn how to maintain healthy living habits, and Persevere and practice "prevention is better than cure" in the long run.
Thanks to the generous donation of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the project is jointly organized by the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and four local non-governmental social service organizations - St. Co-organized by Dansou Community Health Services and the Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association.
Plan content:
1) Free blood test (blood sugar and blood lipid levels)
2) Personal health coaches provide personalized health management guidance
3) Provide sports and health watches to measure the level of exercise and understand your own health status
4) Social service organizations provide health lectures
The plan lasts for 6 months and is free of charge. After completing the plan, there is a chance to get a sports watch and a health report.
