The scholars agreed that a companion is everyone who met the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, lived with him, whether for a short or long period, and died in Islam, whether man or woman, young or old, and took matters of religion and life from him, even if he was not a Muslim, he is not considered a Companion. He was called the Companion because he accompanied the Messenger and stood with him in prosperity and adversity, defended him and supported him and struggled with him with his money and himself.
