Désiré is a poetic point-and-click adventure game in black and white.

When the schoolteacher asks Désiré why he didn't draw the sun like the other pupils, he replies spontaneously: « It's always night in my head. »

Désiré is colour-blind from birth and he will lead you into in world of black and white. He marches on hesitantly, as life never brought him much joy. From a tender age, he is going to meet several characters who will elicit in Désiré intense emotions and alter his vision in surprising ways. Is colour at the end of the road?

The game is, at its core, a critique of the modern world and of the perverting nature of a consumer, profit-obsessed society.

The game contains 4 chapters, 50+ scenes, 40+ characters and a lot of riddles.

What a weird trip. It was certainly a unique story. Creative, engaging. My major gripes were bizarre puzzles and lots of difficult to find objects on a small phone. I ended up just keeping a walk through open in the background whenever I played just to end all my hangups. Anyway, all in all I liked it but BEWARE parents and youth: there is some very, VERY adult sexual themes in this that surprised me. Do not recommend for anyone under 18.

Pretty much the most French game ever. American players may be deterred by the open discussion of sexual themes, nudity etc., but that's what you sign up for when you expose yourself to French culture. It's a great visual & auditory experience, but annoying when you can't move forward in the game b/c you didn't select something that isn't clearly selectable. Plot wise, it's a cool premise but leaves much to be desired due to confusingly incomplete sub-plot arcs. Idk, maybe I just don't "get" it.

I really enjoyed the story and the art style. Just some minor things that prevented me from giving it the full 5 stars were: Accessing the backpack/inventory menu was a bit annoying to guess where it was at and moving the character from a position. I had to redo some timed scenes because of it. Also while I enjoyed all the puzzles, I did have leave the game to look up a hint or two to get me to the next step/ scene.
