Duizenden Description
Thousands is one of the most popular card games.
You start each round with 13 cards and make sets of at least 3 cards. The sets have the same suit (spades, clubs, hearts or diamonds) and are increasing in value. Or they all have the same value (2 to 10, Jack, Queen, King or Ace). The joker may be used as a substitute for any value. The ace counts as either 1 or a card after the king.
At the beginning of your turn, you take 1 card or the discarded card pile. You can take the pile if you can connect at least 2 of the cards in your hand. Then you make sets and place one card on the pile.
Important in the game is the queen of spades. This counts for 100 points and cannot be discarded as the last card. You can only put these on the table as a set.
Once you have laid out all the cards, the scores are added up: that which is on the table minus the cards that you still have in your hand. As soon as one of the players has 1000 points or more at the end of a round, they have won the game.
The scoring is as follows:
1 to 9: 5 points
10, Jack, Queen, King: 10 points
Ace: 20 points
Joker: 25 points
Queen of Spades: 100 points
