Esc buddy Description
An app designed to help volunteers of the European Solidarity Corps program to fully immerse themselves in their projects. Together with the back office for the organization, it promises full support for the volunteer and is a great communication tool for support organizations.
ESC Buddy project of Compagnons Batisseurs Belgium was created by Aleksandar Ristic, their long-term volunteer as a personal project during the last COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a need for a better communication tool for a group of volunteers that are supported by CBB quickly turned into an international project managed by the volunteer himself. The project is developed under the responsibility of Association des Compagnons Bâtisseurs Belgium, in partnership and thanks to the financial support of the BIJ-Bureau International Jeunesse, the agency in charge of European youth mobility programs in the Brussels-Wallonia Federation (Belgium)
The system is still in the initial phases with great plans for the future. European Commission planned that in the period between 2021-2027, 7300 organizations and 270 000 volunteers will go through the ESC project cycle and we want to be able to fully support everyone!
Some initial features of the app include:
* Event section – where a volunteer is able to see all the events that are planned for them including the national agency seminars and volunteer events as well.
*ESC Path – a visual list of all the necessary steps you need to take during your project together with detailed video and text instructions on how to do it. They are provided by your organization and
tailored to your project.
*Notification section – Receive individual or group updates directly from your responsible and stay up-to-date on all the news.
*Profile section – All the relevant information in one place. You are always a few taps away from your emergency contact info, ESC number, and other relevant data.
Stay tuned for further updates where we will have a journal for your Youthpass at the end of the project and a chat section for you and other volunteers. You will also be able to share pictures about your ESC journey and be an inspiration for all the other future volunteers.
In the next stages of development, we plan to include the sending organization and the national agency which would encompass all the participants of an ESC Project and interconnect them for a more immersive experience.
