The School "Green I want you green ..." was founded in 1983 by Professor Catherinne Timm and his daughter Sylvia Timm. At that time, the school had space as only the old house of Pero Correa, 519, where he lived Catherine and served as the stage for childhood play Sylvia and her brothers. With a privileged yard, the old house provided that from the early history of the Green, the school would provide its students with a unique work, allowing the playfulness was always present and the act of play and be happy to be experienced by all children who had the opportunity to study here.
Those who follow the Green's work from the beginning knows the story of struggle and determination on the application of a constructivist pedagogical approach. In the mid-eighties, they were few schools working with this teaching proposal, so there were many myths. Today, the constructivist approach is recognized by the MEC - Ministry of Education and Culture - as an educational parameter, adapting to the different regions of the country. In the Santos region, the School has pioneered and has always invested in applying a unique work, which promote the education of the student in every way, not only aiming their cognitive development, as well as investing in their human development.
Therefore, it was necessary to study a lot, invest in courses for teachers, organizing a coherent team with the work to be done. hard work, because each of our students is treated as an individual, respected in his way of being and strengthened in its ability to evolve.
Much has changed since the founding of the school, the big house of Pero Correa gave way to a three-story building, there are new spaces such as Library, Natural Sciences Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, and also has privileged space to run, play or even sit under the old trees, preserved old house in the yard.
The dream of Sylvia and her mother was gradually taking shape, the school is now recognized for his work in the constructivist approach and serves as a benchmark in the region. Several colleges and universities in the region guide their students to come to know and study the proposal of the Green, our engineers and teachers are respected by the work they do and our alumni are already in college and in the workforce giving show of competence and citizenship.
