Feral Forest Description
Feral Forest is a high paced 2D arcade survival shooter game where you play as a dog fighting through hoards of birds to stay alive. As you survive each day, the enemies you face will become stronger and come at you with greater numbers. It is your mission to defeat them all!
Players will traverse different environments, collecting feathers to upgrade their weapons, and using Power-Ups to help enhance their abilities! Between rounds, you’ll spend feathers to enhance your weapon loadout at Howl’s Wolf Pack Gun Shack.
Movement is crucial in Feral Forest. The player must try to evade enemy attacks by running and jumping around them. Certain power-ups will give you even more movement abilities you can utilize.
Enemies
The birds that inhabit these worlds come in many different shapes and sizes, and have a variety of abilities to attempt to harm your character. Different species will appear depending on the environment, conditions, and daylight! Birds of the same species will also behave differently depending on their age and gender.
Male birds are more aggressive and will actively try to attack the player.
Female birds are more intelligent and spawn baby birds that target the player.
Baby Birds have a variety of different abilities that harm or inhibit the player.
Bosses and Elites are much tougher birds that will require more skill to take on. Beating these foes will be essential in progressing further into the game.
Weapons are separated into two categories: Primary and Secondary.
Primary Weapons are much more powerful and can be used to mow down large groups of birds or provide potent damage to stronger foes. Although be careful because these weapons need to be reloaded often.
Secondary Weapons can be a variety of helpful backup weapons. Melee Weapons are very reliable if your target is within range. Some Secondary Weapons can fill more of a utility or defensive role as well. An understanding of these will be key when you are low on bullets or want to achieve more strategic gameplay.
Each character can equip one of each and alternate between them depending on the situation.
