Pattern notation
- in "Beats" mode, every digit represents one note (beat) where digit "1" represents accented note
- in "Bars" mode, every digit represents the length of the bar in which the first note of the bar is accented
- dash (-) character represents one beat of pause (silence) in both modes
- colon (:) character represents repeat instruction, it is used for shortening pattern text representation, where a number in font of the colon is repeated number of times after the colon ("number" is a single or string of digits)
- dot (.) character in "Bars" mode represents "over" word in polyrhythm definition, bars at both sides of dot character are played simultaneously
- space character is used as a non-mandatory separator that is used for easier readability or for differentiating numbers from digits
- use top right menu to see the examples
UI logic
- all black text is clickable, all gray text is not
- tempo can be entered manually by tapping on the number, increased/decreased by tapping or by pressing and holding (+)/(-) button, or by tapping on the TAP button (TAP button works only when pattern is not playing)
- PLAY/STOP/HOLD button: playback starts when the button is released, playback stops when the button is pressed down
- if STOP button is held down for more than one second, playback is restarted automatically when button is released
- when using "count-in" feature, press and hold PLAY button to delay playback start
Limitations
- max number of beats in a bar in "Bar" mode is 9
- if played loud, your phone may compress accents
