I've been playing the HLM games since HLM 20, and thus far this one is the best yet. It's very smooth, easy enough to pick up and get very into it. It has more detail to it, a few more bells and whistles, but it's not overloaded with minutia the way some sports management sims can be. I prefer a good balance; plenty to do to give that GM feel of running a team, but not so much that it feels tediously endless, and this game hits the mark really well on all fronts. Great game. Highly recommended.

Love the improvements but still has last years issues. I love the inclusion of waivers, different leagues and how a players draft position changes depending on performance. Unfortunately, the two biggest bugs from last year have returned in the form of the computer unlocking and demoting/promoting players on its own and freezing during simulation. My current franchise is stuck in December 2031 and freezes when I try to sim past the 5th. Otherwise, a solid game and worth the pro purchase.

After playing for a while, I gotta say I love the game. One thing I'd like to point out however is the games inability to hand out a fair Conn Smythe trophy. Specifically, it's refusal to give it to a goaltender, regardless of statistics. I have had multiple goalies have under 1.5 GAAs and I even had a goalie sweep the entire postseason just to see the smythe go to a player who wasn't a big difference maker. This trophy needs tweaking, and it should be perfect.
