HPV, en quête d'action Description
The “PrevHPV” project follows a call for expressions of interest launched as part of the 2014-2019 cancer plan. This project is the result of the work of 8 research teams (specialized in Human and Social Sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and General Medicine), brought together within a consortium.
The project initiated in 2019 was promoted by the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm) and was supported by numerous partners such as the Institute for Public Health Research (IReSP), the Institute Thematic Multi-Organization Institute (ITMO) Cancer, the Thematic Multi-Organization Institute (ITMO) Public Health, the General Directorate of School Education (DGESCO) and the National Cancer Institute (INCa).
The objective of the “PrevHPV” research project was to identify, co-construct, implement and evaluate a multi-component intervention aimed at improving the acceptability of vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) by the target population and therefore, ultimately, improve vaccination coverage against HPV.
Serious games are games designed specifically for educational purposes and for a specific audience based on fun elements, but are not intended to be used solely for entertainment purposes.
“HPV, in search of action” was developed by the company Focus Games and the “PrevHPV” consortium specifically as part of the “PrevHPV” research project.
It is an animated game which aims to inform adolescents but also their parents about human papillomavirus (HPV) and associated vaccination, in a fun approach.
The concept of the game is based on an interactive comic strip whose story takes place within a college. Throughout the story, players will follow different characters and explore the theme of HPV. Throughout the game, players will also have to answer questions and play mini-games: the more accurate the answers given, the more successful the mini-games will be and the higher the player's score will be.
