HYPE by AMAD Description
HYPE is a distinctive and confidential mobile application for SIDC dedicated to youth aged between 14 to 24 and easily downloaded on Android and IOS. The aim behind it is to increase their sensitization and raise accurate knowledge of HIV/Sexually transmitted infections and substance abuse, in addition, to inform them of the available services at SIDC. It presents a platform where all inquiries can be answered directly, and when necessary, refer them to appropriate, affordable, and adequate youth-friendly services. Another benefit behind this app is its accessibility to youths from different socio-economic backgrounds and different areas knowing the restricted movement due to the current circumstances.
A group of application responders will be operating from 9 am till 7 pm to anonymously respond to the inquires of the youth who:
#-Need help but are afraid or shy to ask for it
#-Have no one to talk to in specific subject areas related to SA-SRHR
#-Who are concerned about revealing their identity
#-Afraid of direct exposure
#-Unable to talk over the phone (ex. fear from parents to hear the conversation)
#-Are conservative and who perceive talking about the above-mentioned topics as taboo and prefer not being in face-to-face contact with the person they are talking to
#-Youth who already have risky behaviors that can expose their health including mental health to harm.
This application provides:
1-Wide accessibility across the country
2-Reliable resource of needed information through a well-trained and monitored team
3-Timely and proper referral to appropriate and accessible services
4-The emergency response through referrals
