ICRWY LESSONS I Can Read Description
Step by Step Reading and Spelling Lessons with Miss Emma, The Reading Whisperer®. Use with the SSP Spelling Piano app and free Mapping Words in the Woods channel on CodeMapped.com
The SSP I Can Read Without You (ICRWY) Project app replaces the previous SSP Mapping app for Parents and is free to download and access various free resources - S denotes the sections available to subscribers of our ICRWY program.
The ICRWY Project lessons offer subscribers Steps to Reading and Spelling Success. Work through them 1 by 1 with children aged 3+ (although some lessons eg letter and number formation will be watched regularly until learning is secure) No prior training is required, so perfect for parents and tutors! There are also around 40 Core SSP phonics and high-frequency word lessons included, all created by Miss Emma, The Reading Whisperer, for those using The Speech Sound Pics (SSP) Approach and Braintree Forest Learning in the Early Years.
The One, Two, Three and Away! books by Sheila McCullagh are read and explored within the ICRWY Project. See more on 123andAway.com
The ICRWY Project seeks to move learners into the 'self-teaching' phase as quickly as possible, even when whole class teaching (and differentiation is essential) After Phase 1 and 2 in this app they transition into LinguaLit.
Miss Emma has a Masters Degree in Special Educational Needs and is undertaking doctoral work in the UK, with a research focus on early interventions for reading and spelling difficulties including dyslexia. She has developed the SSP ICRWY and ICSWY systems for teaching neurotypical (including non verbal) AND neurodivergent learners to read and spell TOGETHER by using Speech Sound Pictographs within a Speech to Print Approach. 'Mapping Words in the Woods' is a fun outdoor play-based activity used within Braintree Forest Learning playgroups. With a focus on phonemic awareness, and the mapping of phonemes to graphemes and moving quickly towards Orthographic Mapping using a multisensory Speech to Print Approach - we are 'Code Mapping®' and Monster Mapping®! Early Intervention for Dyslexia. Become an LinguaLit Specialist Learning Tutor!
