Impossible Cleanup Description
Follow The Impossible Cleanup Expedition 2024 on Henderson Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the world’s most polluted place on Earth.
In 2019, a cleanup of Henderson Island was led by Howell Conservation Fund. The team successfully cleared 100% of the beach, overcoming countless challenges. Due to a number of global and local issues, the 6 tonnes of collected materials are awaiting retrieval.
Henderson Expedition 2024 builds on Mission 2019 to finish what was started by Howell Conservation Fund, now in collaboration with Plastic Odyssey.
The expedition’s mission is to build an international coalition to complete the cleanup of the world’s most polluted beach and close the loop on this plastic pollution, making the Impossible Possible.
