Jóvenes en Acción Colombia Description
Youth in Action in Colombia is a program implemented by the National Government through the Department of Social Prosperity (DPS). It is aimed at young Colombians in situations of poverty, vulnerability or displacement, in order to provide them with training, training and employment opportunities.
The program seeks to promote the social and economic inclusion of young people, strengthening their skills and competencies to facilitate their insertion in the labor market. To achieve this, it offers different types of support, such as:
1. Conditional transfers: Participants receive a monetary transfer as an incentive for their active participation in program activities, such as attending training and fulfilling the commitments acquired.
2. Training for work: Technical and technological training courses and programs are offered in areas demanded by the labor market. These courses are designed in conjunction with educational institutions and companies.
3. Access to employment: Labor intermediation is facilitated, connecting young people with employment opportunities according to their skills and training. Support is also provided for entrepreneurship and the creation of micro-enterprises.
4. Accompaniment and follow-up: Personalized advice and follow-up is provided to the young participants, with the aim of ensuring their integral development and the achievement of their goals.
The selection of young people is carried out through a public call, where aspects such as the level of vulnerability, socioeconomic situation and the criteria established by the program are evaluated.
