Jagannatha Sahasranama Stotram Description
Sri Jagannatha Sahasranama Stotram ¦ 1000 Powerful Names of Lord Jagannath
Sahasranāma is a Sanskrit term which means a thousand names. As stotras, Sahasra-namas are songs of praise, a type of devotional literature. The word is a compound of sahasra "thousand" and nāman "name". A Sahasranāma often includes the names of other deities, suggesting henotheistic equivalence and/or that they may be attributes rather than personal names.
Sincere devotion stems from absolute faith in the power of the divine. Hence, hailing the supreme force and doing Nama Japa with honesty works wonders, as our prayers reach the Lord sooner than expected. Chanting a thousand names attracts goodness, bliss and peace and above all, his blessings.
Chanting of the mantras or shlokas or strotras help us remain focussed in life. Each word, when uttered correctly generates energy that can be felt within. This energy stimulates the tiniest cells of the body and boosts our concentration power.
A sound mind is essential for a healthy body and vice versa. Hence, we must keep both our mental and physical health free of stress and illness. Regular chanting of the Sahasranama or even listening to it daily helps devotees in maintaining good health.
Taking the name of the Lord regularly helps us remain grounded. It inculcates a sense of gratitude as we acknowledge the fact that there's something more powerful than humankind.
What is more important is the way your recite it. Because, as we know sound waves are generated when we recite it. And when we pronounce the scripts correctly and in the correct pace, the sound waves follow a rhythmic pattern. This pattern is what giving you the calmness and peace of mind while and after reciting it. If the slokas are recited with correct pronunciations in a proper way, this itself will be like a pranayama a good breathing exercise.
