Just Like Me Description
Just Like Me connects you with other individuals around the world living with the same mental health conditions or experiencing similar symptoms so that you can build a support network exclusively based on your mental health needs.
Receive validation, social interaction, encouragement and support from a community of others who understand your challenges. You can filter search results by disorder (based on the DSM-5), symptoms or category (ex. LGBTQ+, veteran, post partum, first responder) as well as receiving recommendations for people to add to your network.
Tell your mental health story in a safe place. It's a proven way to lighten your own mental load while encouraging others to open up about their experiences, thus combating stigma and shame. Prompts encourage you to focus on your strengths, pinpoint areas of improvement regarding your disorder and establish what happiness looks like for you.
The daily mood check-in help sends an alert to others in your network should the selection indicate a mental health struggle or crisis so that you can receive immediate comfort, support as well as a pop-up of emergency numbers, resources and an encouraging message.
Just Like Me was created by a suicide survivor and recovered addict, so the interface is created by someone who knows what it's like to struggle and understands the unique needs of someone facing mental health challenges.
