Kanda PRG Loader Description
This app is for loading Kanda PRG files into Kanda Programmers.
It functions with all currently supported Kanda programmers that connect using the Kanda Dongle 3.
This includes:
- Kanda Singleway Handheld Programmers.
- Kanda Eightway Handheld Programmers.
- Kanda Portable Programmers.
- Kanda Keyfob Programmers.
This includes any variant of the above: PIC, AVR etc.
Kanda PRG files need to be created with the appropriate Kanda desktop application. Once created this PRG file can be sent to an android device via any standard method: Email, online repository etc. And then using this app loaded into a connected programmer.
This app will only allow a PRG to be loaded if it matches the type of programmer that is connected.
Best practise for connecting the programmer is:
- Connect the programmer to the Dongle 3 via the supplied ten way ribbon cable (this is integral on Keyfob).
- Connect the USB cable into the Dongle 3 - Mini-USB.
- Attach a USB OTG adapter to the other end of the USB cable - USB-A.
- Plug the USB OTG into your Android device - Whatever USB port is present on the android device.
- The app will automatically detect this connection and launch.
- USB Permission is required for this app to function. When first plugging in the USB you must wait for the permission dialog and accept to continue. This can take some seconds and pressing anything too quickly can hide the dialog. If this occurs, unplug and replug the USB to try again.
The android device requires USB Host functionality for this app to function. Consult the devices box/manual or search for a "USB Host checker" app on the google play store.
A USB On-The-Go (OTG) cable or adaptor is required to attach the USB cable to the Android device. This will often be supplied with the device or if not is available from the Kanda webstore.
