Linggo Learner Description
Linggo is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) platform that comprises 2 applications, Linggo Learner and Linggo Coach. Designed with a behaviour analytic perspective and created in collaboration with Speech-Language Pathologists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Linggo incorporates evidence-based strategies to support the development of language, functional communication, speech and literacy skills (sight reading), while monitoring progress using data driven technology.
The Linggo Learner app is intended for individuals who have difficulty or are unable to speak.
The Linggo Coach app is intended for clinicians, care partners and parents who wish to monitor progress.
Intuitive Interface
Word finding is made easier when words appear based on personal context, relevance and grammatical order.
Linggo Library
With a robust library of over 4000 words with grammatical markers, users can create and add meaningful vocabulary to help the individual build their language skills. All images are licensed from TobiiDynavox.
Language Trees (Communicator)
Teach sentence structures through Language Trees. Whether you're just beginning with nouns or teaching subject-verb-object combinations, Linggo can be customized to grow with the Learner's language profile.
Free Form
Generative novel phrases and sentences in the moment and as needed. Use Linggo’s library or photos/images from your own device to spontaneously generate novel words, phrases and sentences.
Quick Chat
Functional communication is made easier with Quickchat. Phrases such as “I need the washroom.” “My way, please” and “Help me” can be expressed easily through a single tap.
Transition to Text
Linggo offers the Transition To Text feature which encourages the Learner to learn sight words rather than relying solely on pictures and symbols to communicate. When Transition To Text is enabled, the picture associated with the text fades or reduces in size over time, eventually disappearing to display the text (sight word) only.
Transition to Speak
Linggo offers the Transition to Speak feature which uses a time delay (1 to 10 seconds) to encourage the Learner to use their voice. When this feature is enabled, the word remains silent when selected - giving the Learner the opportunity to practice their speech.
Coaches and Progress Reports
The support and feedback of Coaches are critical and mandatory components for the success of AAC intervention - which is why we included Coaches as active users too. Coaches collect data on Learner’s communication, which is then graphed across progress reports to help make evidence informed decisions.
