The long-established and pioneering brand in the high-end textile sector in the Sultanate of Oman, it was launched in 1948 AD by Hajj Mahdi Jawad Al-Lawati, from the Dark Market in the Wilayat of Muttrah, the ancient city with flourishing trade in the Sultanate at that time. Hajj Mahdi set out to import the most widespread fabrics in the world from Indian factories. China, Europe, and then Japan, which is the first and most trusted brand in the fabric market in Oman from the late 1940s until today, as Mahdi Store is linked to the Omani family in providing the finest fabrics for women and men alike. The memory is still associated with Mahdi’s store in preparations for returning to school, and the various fabrics from different sources around the world.
