MetaGait Statistics Description
MetaGait is neurorehabilitation device for mechanotherapy of lower limbs. It is an innovative device designed to simulate walking.
The vertical leveller serves for performing complex rehabilitation exercises in an upright position and is intended for medical rehabilitation departments and for use in fitness centers. MetaGait can also be used at home, which is important for patients.
By moving the arms, or even one arm, the patient forces the elements of MetaGait device, which support the adynamic lower limbs, to move synchronously. The patient maintains an upright posture by stabilizing the torso and the use of the arms allows the body to be set in motion to simulate walking.
While exercising on the MetaGait, the muscles and joints of the lower extremities are passively worked on. At the same time actively working the upper extremities shoulder girdle, leading to the movement of the whole system, also trains the muscles abdomen and back muscles, torso and pelvis are also trained.
That is why it is one of the most effective devices for lower extremity mechanotherapy.
All supports are attached to the patient's body with Velcro straps, adjustable for the patient's height and weight.
MetaGait:
- Provides the ability to perform remote rehabilitation under the supervision of a physician.
- The number of steps the patient has walked, the length of the walk, distance, time and speed are recorded on the server via a sensor.
- Recorded data can be tracked through the app.
- Solves the problem of socialization by involving people from different places in the same environment at the same time.
- Provides interesting entertainment during training.
- Through virtual games, it restores nerve centers and allows the creation of new neural connections.
- The game scenes and landscape are adapted depending on which muscle the patient needs to develop.
Effects of use:
-Dynamic loading of the musculoskeletal system
-Reduction in the risk of osteoporosis
-Training in an upright position
-Stimulation of the respiratory system
-Promotion of circulation
-Prevention of urinary infections
-Prevention of tendon contractures and joint degeneration
-Improvement of the psycho-emotional well-being of the patient
Indications:
-Lower limb paresis and paralysis,
-Hemi, triple or tetraparesis after injuries or diseases of the brain and spinal cord.
-Diseases of the brain and spinal cord,
-Infantile cerebral palsy (ICP) and other neuromuscular diseases of children.
With the help of MetaGait, more than 30 diseases and their exacerbations related to forced sedentary lifestyle, which according to the WHO cause 30-40% of deaths, can be prevented or alleviated:
-Bedsores
-Degenerative changes of the cardiovascular system
-Orthostatic hypotension
-Venous congestion, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism
-Increased risk of cardiovascular disease
-Hypostatic pneumonia, atelectasis
-Incontinence of urine and defecation
-Obesity
-Muscle atrophy and joint contractures
-Overstrain on the hands
-Peripheral nerve disease and damage
-Sensory deprivation
-Gas exchange, macro- and microelement metabolism disorders
-Osteoporosis
-Disorders of carbohydrate metabolism
Contraindications
• Bone joint contractures
• Osteoporosis
• Ossifications
• Risk of orthostatic collapse
• Varicosis
• Chronic blood pressure fluctuations
Contraindications to the VR version
• Use 2 hours without interruption
• Mental disorders
