mi DGT Description
The General Directorate of Traffic puts at your disposal a free mobile application so that you can take your driving license and the documentation of your vehicles in digital format on your mobile. Access through the Cl @ ve system (electronic identity for public administrations) to use it.
Currently, the application allows you to generate and consult your digital permissions as well as your main data. The digital documentation generated by miDGT is valid to drive and circulate in Spain, according to the regulation approved by the DGT. However, we recommend that until the system becomes general or if your mobile phone breaks or you run out of coverage, you continue to carry your physical documentation with you for the time being for greater security. Remember to take it also if you go abroad. Soon, we will incorporate new features such as notices and payment of penalties, the purchase of fees, the appointment request in our offices or the main procedures related to your permits and your vehicles.
The mobile application requires access permission to the device camera to read the QR code for verification of digital permissions.
If you have access problems, please visit the web: https://sedeapl.dgt.gob.es/WEB_MIDGT_BACKEND/problemasTecnicos.html
The miDGT application requests certain permissions to perform some necessary actions depending on the functionality being used. Here you can check the main ones:
· Camera: The application requests access to the device's camera to read the verification codes of digital or physical documents and thus be able to display them on the device.
· Storage: The application requests access to the device's storage to save the files that you can download from it, such as a document verified by CSV, a vehicle report or proof of payment of a penalty.
· Location: The application requests access to the device's location to find the closest offices to request an appointment or so that you can access traffic incidents closest to your location, as these features become available.
· Calendar: The application requests access to your calendar to save a previous appointment that you have obtained through the application or, in the future, reminders that you want to create, as these features become available.
Additionally, the application requires a data connection to function properly. But keep in mind that, in any case, this information, such as location information, is only managed by the application within the device, without being sent to the General Directorate of Traffic.
As a user, you have full control over the permissions you grant for the app. From the application settings menu you can enable or disable notifications and, from your device settings, you can enable or disable, in addition to the app notifications, each of the requested permissions. You can decide if they are always allowed, if they are allowed only when the application is in use or if they are denied. Keep in mind that, in case of denying them, the functionalities associated with these permissions will stop working.
