MilleMots Description
MilleMots is an application that allows you to perform daily word memorization exercises from a completely personalized word database built up over time.
With Millemots you start by populating your word database (up to 9 letters) with the words you want to memorize. You enter the words of your choice by grouping the different spellings of the same word, with a brief definition, such as: KAT KHAT QAT, Shrub producing a hallucinogenic substance. But you can also accept suggestions from MilleMots which includes a database of more than a thousand words deemed difficult or little-known from which you choose those you wish to assimilate.
When you have a sufficient number of words in your database, you can practice finding them. During a game session, Millemots offers you random draws of letters from which you must form basic words in a limited time. If it is a valid anagram that you propose, you can try your luck again. At the end of the session, MilleMots presents you with the list of words you have stumbled upon and memorizes them to offer them to you as a priority during the following session.
When over the course of the game sessions you have found a word several times in a row without an error, it is deactivated and is no longer offered to you during subsequent sessions. This makes room for new words.
Later, when you have assimilated a sufficient number of words, you can choose to reactivate words in order to consolidate your knowledge. You will then have the choice of favoring the words that are the oldest for you or those that are the most difficult (high error rate). At any time you can also choose to manually deactivate or reactivate a word.
On the main screen of the application you have an overview of your word database in the form of a drop-down list that you can display in several classification orders: alphabetical order, session order, chronological order, etc. By clicking on a line in the list you will view information relating to the chosen word: the different spellings, the definition, anagrams, letter extensions, letter shortcuts. You can also change the status of the word (active, inactive) or even modify the definition or even add an additional spelling.
Around ten parameters such as the minimum size of the active base, the number of draws per session or the duration of the limited time per draw can be personalized using an interactive menu.
If you know other MilleMots users, you will be able to share your word database by email sent directly from the application. Likewise, you can open a word database transmitted by another user and saved in the DOWNLOAD directory of your Android. MilleMots will show you the words that are not yet in your database and you can add them to it.
