Comments about NSWL Android Version

Unfortunately, despite the great quality of the content that Naxos produces, I experience problems every time I use the app: The app often fails to load the next track after finishing a track. I can only get the track to play by closing the app and reopening it or changing to a different track and selecting the correct track. For some books, this means that after every four minute track, I spend a minute (or more) trying to get the correct track to load. When the app does automatically play the succeeding track, more often than not it skips the first 30-60 seconds of the track on its own. So when the narrative continues without pause, I am confused because the app just skipped a whole paragraph or more. I then have to restart the track by dragging the scrubber back to the beginning of the track. Loading tracks takes painfully long. Changing screens takes painfully long. I spend about 50% of my time enjoying the books and 50% of my time wrestling with the app. There is no way to see the full runtime of a book within the app. There is no way to save books to a list or shelf without downloading them to my phone's storage. There is no way to see how much time in total remains in the book I'm listening to. There is no easy way to navigate between chapters, only tracks. Lastly, when I have been listening to a book earlier and then stopped, the app will randomly begin playing again. This can be very frustrating in a work environment. I listened to The Pilgrim's Progress this morning before work. Hours later, when I hung up from a phone call on my Android phone, the app randomly resumed playback of the book, even though it had not been playing before the call. Behavior like this is frequent.
I was so excited to discover I have access to this app via my library. Unfortunately, unlike the online player, there is no facility to increase playback speed which makes this unusable for me. This is a basic feature that every audiobook player and podcast app has so it's surprising this has been overlooked. Also, while the interface seems to be good, there is no way of saving books into a wishlist or to browse by category or see similar books. Libby app is far superior.
-You can't choose play speed. +Has decent collection of classic literature, -finding those books though is made very hard, as the app doesn't display categories (only "newly added", "classic romance", "explore classic Scottish literature" and two "featured" writers on the main screen)

What is an XAPK file, and what should I do if the NSWL I downloaded is an XAPK file?

A file with .xapk extension is a compressed package file. It is a container file format that incorporates APK and additional associated files required for the installation.
