Optris calculator Description
The Optris Calculator app combines the spot size calculator of the IR pyrometers and the optics calculator of the IR cameras from Optris. For each distance, the spot size of the respective device is calculated.
For a correct temperature measurement with pyrometers, it is important that the spot size is not larger than the object to be measured.
In the case of the cameras, the measuring area on the object surface to be analyzed is precisely determined. Based on lens information and the distance to the target, field of view dimensions, pixel size (IFOV), and MFOV (from 2x2 pixels to 4x4 pixels depending on product type) are precisely calculated. Thus, the thermal imaging camera can be optimally positioned, and measurement errors avoided.
The Optris Calculator is a very helpful tool for selecting the appropriate optics fitting to the respective application.
