Oro Stereo Description
Inspired by the memorable FM radio station of the '80s music radio in Barranquilla and Santa Marta, cities of the Colombian Caribbean.
Full description: It is the Audio Streaming version of the remembered music station of the frequency modulated radio (100.1 MHz) that captivated thousands of listeners in the cities of Barranquilla and Santa Marta during the second half of the 80s ( 1984-1989), managing to position itself as the first of its kind and the third most heard among the general audience (sum of socio-economic segments of the Atlantic capital) according to preference results produced by the consultation on homes and vehicles, carried out by the signature Analyze for the National Association of Advertisers, ANDA, between June and July 1988.
Its test signal began a continuous broadcast in October 1984 until October 1989 when its owners, the radio chain O.R.O. before the refusal of the Ministry of Communications to grant new licenses in capital cities of the country for the scandal known as "Miti-Miti", he decided to transfer the frequency to the city of Cáli, in western Colombia, but to broadcast there as his popular radio station known as the Stereo Olympic because of the need for publicity demanded at that time by the Olympic Superstore chain which was expanding and opened its first store in that city. It was the obligatory sacrifice of this memorable Anglo-American musical radio in the city of Barranquilla that left thousands of listeners in the orphan, mostly young adolescents and contemporary adults of the time, since it was the only radio option with musical programming of the genres of pop and rock. Oro Estéreo left an indelible mark on the memory of Barranquilleros, both from birth and adoption, who today are adults who have found in the new Stereo Roro the best way to reconnect with their memories.
Today its content, in addition to Anglo pop, in greater percentage composed of classics of the '80s, is nuanced by great Hits of the' 90s and the end of the '70s, mixed with a bit of the so-called "Recurrent" or successes of the contemporary adult music from the 2000s and even recent years. It is a station for "Living the Lived Again".
