P.I. Project Helper Description
This app was written by someone with ADHD for people with ADHD. I noticed that checklists are not very motivating for me. Looking at all the items and trying to decide which one to work on. We're told when the deficit of our attention is low we should break down each step into smaller and smaller segments but that would just clutter any to-do list I made and make it seem that much more daunting. It got to be so that each item ticked off felt like a drop in a cosmic bucket. I found limiting the checklist to only what was needed for the next step helped. Turning the item into a question helped even more. I call this method, "The Private Eye Method" because it feels similar to how a private eye follows the next lead on a case in a movie. I decided to see if this technique could finally help me overcome the executive dysfunction that sabotages every personal project I try to complete. So I used the technique to make an app to make it easier to used the technique and use the app to make it while I made it. It seems to have worked because here we are with the the first project I've finished to the point of publishing. Maybe this tool could be useful to someone else as well.
