Poland between Germany & USSR Description
Poland between Germany & USSR is a turn based strategy game set on the European Theater during the Second World War. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011.
You command the Polish WWII armed forces, which are hopelessly defending Poland from attacks from three separate directions... or from four directions if the USSR decides to attack as well. The official plan, called Plan West (September campaign), relies on defending all land areas, but it might be smarter to use the defensive fortifications, rivers, and local militia to your advantage to slow down the German advance enough to mobilize all the regular divisions and brigades into a concentrated defense. Every day of fighting increases the likelihood of receiving Western assistance, or at the very least strengthens the case for the rebirth of the Polish nation after the war!
Rarely in military history has a country been attacked from all four cardinal directions. In September 1939, the Polish armed forces, still in the middle of the process of mobilizing, faced that grim reality. It's like a real life tower defense style scenario in which you are attacked from every possible angle.
FEATURES:
+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup as much as possible within keeping the game fun and challenging to play.
+ Competitive: Measure your thinking skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.
+ Thanks to all the countless tiny built-in variations there is a huge replay value - after enough turns the flow of the campaign takes a fairly different one compared to the previous play through.
+ Settings: An endless list of options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, turn off unit types and resources, and much more.
+ Varied AI: Instead of mindlessly attacking on straight line towards the target, the AI opponent has various strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling any weak looking nearby units.
Conflict-Series by Joni Nuutinen has offered highly rated Android-only strategy board games since 2011, and even the first scenarios are still actively updated. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming mechanics TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. If you have hold a handful of dices while hunching over a tabletop wargame, desperate to throw mostly sixes and fives, you know what type of experience I'm talking about here. I want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any solo indie developer could dream of. If you have advice on how to improve this board game series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth chat without the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if there is a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will get back to you. Thanks for understanding!
