Prosodiya - Lesen u. Schreiben Description
Prosodiya is an innovative support concept to improve the reading and spelling performance of primary school children with and without LRS.
With Prosodiya, children train to recognize the German language rhythm step by step. You practice dividing individual words into syllables and recognizing the stressed syllable. They then learn how to connect these linguistic rhythmic features with spelling rules. With the help of these skills, children are able to learn to read and write more systematically and easily.

Result of scientific research
Already in 2009 Dr. Katharina Brandelik aims to investigate whether there is a connection between children's speech rhythm skills and their reading and spelling skills. As part of her dissertation at the University of Tübingen, she was able to show that children with reading and spelling difficulties often have problems perceiving speech rhythm. For this, Dr. Brandelik received the 2014 Science Prize from the Federal Association for Dyslexia & Dyscalculia e.V.
Based on these findings, the development of the Prosodiya funding program began in 2014. Since the beginning, development has been carried out in cooperation with the University of Tübingen, Prof. Dr. Jürgen Heller, research methods and mathematical psychology and Prof. Dr. Detmar Meurers, Computer Lingustik and the Lernforum Brandelik, a tutoring and learning therapy provider. The Prosodiya research group now consists of Dr. Katharina Brandelik, Jochen Brandelik, Heiko Holz and Benedikt Beuttler.
