Qcast Description
Qcast is an application intended for use by business segment users only. The purpose of the application is to allow good quality video-audio communication and interaction between users of the app and between users of the app and a controlling station The communication is possible over both 4G mobile and wi-fi networks.
Qcast App may be operated by users that have been pre-registered by Quintetto srl in the Qcast database. Pre-registered users are assigned to a domain associated to the company or business operation the user belongs to. Pre-registered users receive a login credential (user name and password) that they must input to log into the App to enable access to the functions provided by the App.
After successful login the user is prompted by specific pop-up messages to grant or deny permission to access the cameras, microphone, data of his/her smartphone and location. These permissions are necessary to enable the functions provided by the App.
The list of supported functions is briefly outlined:
• CALL STUDIO: When the app user enters in this function he/she will see a list of available active sessions. The user must choose one of the active sessions to join it. Once the user joins the session he/she can call into or be called from a control station (called Qcast Studio). By accepting the call activation request (in called mode) or being accepted when asking to start a call by tapping the LIVE button (in calling mode) is what is required to establish a bidirectional real-time audio-video connection with the Studio operator.
• CALL USER: Call or be called by another QCast App user to establish a one-to-one video-audio call. Both calling and called users must be members of the same domain.
• MY CONTENTS: the user may upload videos to his/her private section of Qcast Web server. The private area is within the domain space the user belongs to.
• COMMUNITY: users can view videos posted by QCast Web server administrator to the shared area of the domain. All users belonging to the same domain can access and view the videos posted to the shared area.
• LIVE STREAM FEED: lets the user produce a video-audio stream using any combination of the smartphone cameras (front, rear, front and rear) and share the stream with other members of the domain only (in Private Share production mode) or share it also with Facebook or YouTube friends (in Public Share production mode). The posting of the stream as it is being shot to Facebook or YouTube is possible after having logged into a valid account.

The user may view any of the current feeds by tapping on a selected stream name displayed by the list or, in alternative, may also view where the current streams are being shot by looking at their geographical location on the Apple map. The stream viewing is synchronous with the stream production.
