Senarai Istilah Jawa Description
The List of Javanese Terms is a digital dictionary owned by the Central Java Provincial Language Center in collaboration with Dian Nuswantara University. The preparation of this digital dictionary was carried out to support the revitalization and conservation program of the Javanese language, especially the Javanese language in Central Java. This digital dictionary is continuously updated every year by adding application entries and features.
This dictionary, which contains a collection of Javanese terms, began to be developed in 2021 and launched on October 20, 2021. Documented terms come from five dialects of Javanese in Central Java which cover various domains, such as tradition, art, traditional houses, maritime, agriculture, livestock, plantations, and traditional food in Central Java.
Digital Dictionary Update
The digital dictionary of Javanese Terms List is updated once a year by adding entries, adding new meanings, phonetic improvements, definition improvements, and adding application features.
Preliminary Data, 2021
At the beginning of the compilation, the digital dictionary, the List of Javanese Terms, had 6,538 entries consisting of maritime, fisheries, units of measure, traditional living tools, agriculture, and arts.
Update II, 2022
Updating the digital dictionary of the Javanese Terms List in 2022 is carried out by entering new entries in the form of Javanese words and expressions in the fields of keris, wayang sungging crafts, parts of Javanese traditional houses, and traditional Javanese food. There were 455 entries successfully added to the digital dictionary so that by 2022 the number of entries in the Javanese Glossary digital dictionary is 6,993. Apart from adding new entries, the digital dictionary is also being updated by adding voice features, bookmarks, synonyms, sharing, search widgets, popular words, and the crowdsourcing feature.
